Research Services

The library is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers. It is supported by the sale of our books, memberships, donations, and research fees. We cannot afford to provide copies or do extensive research for free.

There is no charge for lookups requiring less than 30 minutes. We will let you know the results of our search by email. If you want a copy of a record or page from a book, there is a fee of $5 for copying and mailing up to 3 pages.

For research of more than 30 minutes we charge $10 per hour, plus 25 cents a page for photocopies, 50 cents a page for copies from microfilm, and $3 for shipping and handling. Make checks payable to Bryan County Genealogy Library or B.C. G. L.

When requesting research please include enough information for us to correctly identify the person you are seeking. Sending a family group sheet will save time by allowing us to see what information you already have so we can avoid duplicating your research. If not sending a group sheet, provide as many of the following as possible: full name, nicknames, maiden name, and all known married names for women, dates and places of birth, marriage, and death, place of burial, names of parents, children, and siblings.

We look forward to helping you locate your Bryan County ancestors!
